In your kitchen cabinet, you’ve probably got a spray bottle with an adjustable nozzle. If you twist the nozzle one way, it sprays a fine mist into the air.
You twist the nozzle the other way, it squirts a jet of water in a straight line.
You turn that nozzle to the exact position you want so you can wash a mirror, clean up a spill, or whatever.
If the universe had expanded a little faster, the matter would have sprayed out into space like fine mist from a water bottle – so fast, a gazillion particles of dust would speed into infinity and never even form a single star.If the universe had expanded just a little slower, the material would have dribbled out like big drops of water, then collapsed back where it came from by the force of gravity.
A little too fast, and you get a meaningless spray of fine dust. A little too slow, and the whole universe collapses back into one big black hole.
The surprising thing is just how narrow the difference is – the fine tuning of the Big Bang.
To strike the perfect balance between too fast and too slow, the force, something that physicists call “the Dark Energy Term” had to be accurate to one part in ten with 120 zeros. If you wrote this as a decimal, the number would look like this:
0.000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000001
In their paper “Disturbing Implications of a Cosmological Constant” two atheist scientists from Stanford University stated that the existence of this dark energy term would have required a miracle… “An unknown agent” intervened in cosmic history “for reasons of its own.”
Just for comparison, the best human engineering example is the Gravity Wave Telescope, which was built with a precision of 23 zeros.
The Designer, the ‘external agent’ that caused our universe must possess an intellect, knowledge, creativity and power trillions and trillions of times greater than we humans have. Absolutely amazing.
Now a person who doesn’t believe in God has to find some way to explain this.
One of the more common explanations seems to be “There was an infinite number of universes, so it was inevitable that things would have turned out right in at least one of them.”
The “infinite universes” theory is truly an amazing theory. Just think about it, if there is an infinite number of universes, then absolutely everything is not only possible… It’s actually happened!
It means that somewhere, in some dimension, there is a universe where the Chicago Cubs won the World Series last year. There’s a universe where Justin Bieber becomes President of the United States.
There’s even a universe where Elvis kicks his drug habit and still resides at Graceland and sings at concerts.
Imagine the possibilities!
I might sound like I’m joking, but actually I’m dead serious. To believe an infinite number of universes made life possible by random chance is to believe everything else I just said, too.
Some people believe in God with a capital G.
And some folks believe in Chance with a Capital C.

Mr. Marshall,
It is a fact that universe has an infinite past, and has got an infinite future. Big bang is only a local event. There is no need for any goddish planning for any natural event. Time is single, running from an infinite past to an infinite future. No need for any gods, they are useless and nothing than tales and fables.

Is the big bang the beginning of time?
http://evo2.org/faq/#time
Dear Necil:
You have an unsolvable logical problem that defies the basis of modern science.
Thermodynamics teaches us the usable energy in the universe is winging down, being used up and not replaced. There fore it had a beginning ,the energy was created at a point in the past and will have an end.
Nothing in science approaches the surety of thermodynamics, you might as well deny the existence of gravity.
Your argument is hyper religious.
Ah, c´mon guys. To me it is all too obvious. As God is able to go from (tie) demsion to another, and be present at any time anywhere He wishes, as well as being able to present Himself any way He wishes, I prefer to reduce this to the least common denominator. Accept God, accept what He has done and what is His will, and take a load off…..
I, working in the aerospace industries for for 30+ years,.I have seen may things which would amaze genrally people today, but the fact of the matter is thatmuch of todayps techologies hav existed for centuries.
Is it truth that the earth will have entered into the destruction moment? As if let it be so, then it is said that its progeny, those who live at point of contact, would die up only at point of 0 value at the time of devastation of the earth who can be treated as a cell, and also 0 be the god, for example today’s modern technology will be the expansations of the value 0, so modern technology will be the example of the earth. However the value 0 called the universe not become destroyed.
It is absolutely true that Jesus god born for salvation and died for our sins because when there are filled up sins in the earth, then an angel come from the heaven and put off them by destroying the earth and give a new birth of that in return, so not only the Bible but also any one religious book says the same talk. However there a question arises how to make remedy to save our earth?,- answer : salvation is not so easy as thinking as because the bulk quantity of sins is so much higher rather than normalcy as there is no place for excuse by the god, however there is only one way to make content of her that is lets go into hurdle to make good work for her meant live and non live bodies for animating her body again newly, otherwise we are quarrelling among ourselves taking trifling matters to propel the earth for destruction.
However science is the symbol of operation on the earth, the god put to it beforehand, operation of that can be applied only through out her instruction, so her wish is to be vital to convert unpractical thing into practical thing. So the Bible is relevant and correct
Mr. Marshall,
Are my observations on the most illogical invention of humans GOD too mundane to be even mentioned on your blog or it is your response to a mind not sensible enough as to accept the supremacy of humans above all matter.
I heard a news that our world is going to extinct is that true?
Eventually the universe will burn itself out. Entropy makes that inevitable.
Why doesn’t the Bible talk about the other planets as being created by God?
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” – i.e. everything
Mr.Perry bible did not speak about other planets because humans were not aware of other planets..if they knew about it surely that would have been added in bible..
Dear Ernest:
Before you attack God read His book.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day
HI Perry,
Does God have His own place(Heaven) somewhere up in space(universe), that as time goes on man or sience can locate where His place is.
I beleive in God and Heaven, but plese tell me what you think about this comment Perry.
God is immaterial and outside of space and time.
Just a simple questions,
After we die what comes next?
What if there is God , Heaven and hell , after you die, and you don’t believed in God then you go to hell for eternity.
What if you found out that you had a cancer and on stage 4, then you know your time will expire soon?
What hope do you have?
Today you are healthy and wealthy and a very succesful person with good life, how about 30years from now, 70years fronm now, 100years from now if ever, they you
wait for your time, what comes next?
If there is God Heaven and satan/devil (hell)? I am sure that all none believers will GO TO HELL!
Guys you don’t need to answer back regarding this thoughts and questions, keep it to yourself,
The truth we will soon expire in this world and face reality.
God bless you all!
Do you think with out any instruments (space craft, hubble scope etc…) can you realise that there are other planets?
where did the big bang theory came from what years? when, where, what?
did columbus time, people already knows about the big bang?
is there a bible during columbus time? did colubus read it (bible) that is why he proved that the world is round.
the context of the bible was written 2000years ago with out any advanced technology, why and how then they knew it , how earth and everything was created accurately?
Can you tell what comes next after 2000years from now, if earth will not be destroyed? Do you have the equipments to know what coming or technology, etcc… for the next 2000years? for now NO ONE CAN KNOWS, thats the truth.
All my words are just very simple questions, I had not used technical words , but a simple questions and very basic and reality of life. Death sure comes in each one.
Hi Gerald:
I ask this question a lot here, why do you attack a book you never bothered to read? Do you allow other to do all your thinking for you?
The Bible was written over a period of 3500 years and from the style of Genesis , the Toldoths in it, pars of it were compiled from tablets written much more ancient than that. The New Testament was written 2000 years ago , the history of creation was already very ancient then.
Te Big Bang is nothing new, the Hindus had a similar teaching thousands of years ago and it was debated by 1st century theologians. It is not a fact but a belief, and interpretation , a very biased one that assumes the earth is no place special which is religious , not scientific.
Columbus lived 500 years ago, he was a Christian, of course there were Bibles then.
The Bible writes history in advance, hundreds of details about the life of Jesus Christ were written many centuries before He came to earth to save our souls.
God was here at creation, not the scientists.
We do not know when the earth will be destroyed, only that it will be.
People new about other planets long before there were telescopes.
I think the understanding of origin in this reality is very incomplete because
it is based in time distance and space. Living in this three dimensional realm
I do not think there will ever an acceptable universal understanding of “God”. In
my experience “God” is everywhere in everything has been and will be without
end. The greatest enslaver in this reality is time and in my life I only am consciousof “God” in the present moment and that awareness expands as my
awareness moves into new areas of questioning. How challenging to try to
define all of isness in such limited symbols as words. I have had some wonder
ful experiences on other levels of consciousness and have pretty much come to the
understanding that words sorely diminish the experience.
Sincerely- Wendy
Dear Wendy:
The only way there would be a universal understanding of God now is if we all were in agreement, that is silly considering reality.
One day we will be in agreement , I hope you decide to denounce pantheism before it comes.
Cosmology is too boring! I imagine people would be interested in occupying the universe and putting to rest all these earth-centric discussions. But even before that, we might need to ask; where is the true science and indeed true theology? Indeed we could go on to ask if there is one uniquely true ethic, culture and so on without being being too deterministic, mechanistic.
Assalamu Alaikum
The Holy Quruan gives explicit details of how the universe was created and what our purpose of life is in this world…
The more I read Perrys explanations on each subject – I reflect what i have read about that in the Holy Quruan…
For those of you who are lazy to read should view the dialogue between Dr Zakir Naik and Dr William Campbell – on the Quruan and Bible in the light of Science
Dear Assalamu:
Could you give us some evidence ? From my studies of the Qu ran I found it contradictory about the creation even the number of days and not at all scientific.
It certainly is nothing at all like the Biblical account. It is scattered all over the Qu ran. There is not one place one can go to and say this is the Islamic creation story .
The basis of Christianity is that God created us and gave us a choice and we choose to sin and bring death into the world. The Qu ran teaches death was Allah’s will. To try and imply there is any real resemblance in the 2 faiths is just not the case.
I have heard several Muslims make claims that Allah revealed the Big Bang etc to Mohamed but that is not in the Qu ran.
thanks too much to you mr perry
i admire you the best for your simple way and easy words
faith makes our life better…….
that is all
Do you think that god & scince are related to each other? If so then is there any other creation of god i mean the next universe?
God and science are definitely related. http://www.evo2.org/FAQ
If the universe is expanding who much speed does it accelerates ?
You can Google this information.
Respected Perry Marshall
A question may arise that if the universe starts with a big bang something must have been there for the big bang to take place. What could have been this pre universe and who was the creator?
Another question is whether God is a person as it is thought by almost everybody or He is a concept.
May I get your clarifications?
With Regards
Anil Seth
I think the creator of the Big Bang was Jesus Christ. See http://evo2.org/audio/newevidence.htm
God is a person not a concept. http://evo2.org/faq
Greetings Perry
Your view of intelligence and science as healthy products of the Spirit is on par with the Baha’i perspective, and with the principle of “the Harmony of Science and Religion” and even the concept of “Divine Science”.
Relative to this, Baha’u’llah revealed that : “The world of existence came into being throught he heat generated from the interaction between the active force and that which is its recipient……..such as communicate the generating influence and such as receive its impact are indeed created through the irresistible Word of God which is the cauce of the entire creation, while all else besides His Word are but the creatures and the effects thereof. Verily thy Lord is the Expounder, the All-Wise.”
Cheers
Darryl
Why do try and equate Christianity and the Bahai faith? One is right , or both are wrong. Make your case, please don’t try and say they are the same. Jesus Christ said he is the way, the truth and the light. Therefore Christianity claim to be the only true faith.
Where did God come from ?
You must use the same rules to religion has you do with science.
What caused the BIG BANG ?
then
What caused or created God ?
Who made God? http://evo2.org/infotheoryqa.htm
I agree that something had to create the BIG BANG so on, and so on but then where did God come from. Under the same rules God had to be created from something too.
Did God have parents and if so where did they come from and if God did not have parents then who or what created God ?
You can’t apply your thinking to science then not apply it to religion.
Thats being a hypocrite
You don’t need to ask the same question 5 times on my blog. Who made God? http://evo2.org/infotheoryqa.htm
