I’d like to discuss something I’ve been working on. Focus is the evolution of multicellular life and mitochondrial vitamins with a touch of anthropology.

    • You’re welcome to tell us about it here.

      • Andrew Abbass says:

It might get a bit extensive.

in short, there is a compound that shows up in marine sources that has been shown to have a major impact on promoting mitochondrial health. I’ve got a volume of existing research that can be passed along.

It seems to be involved in pathways that promote longevity and multicellular cohesion.

My working theory is that it would be a major factor in the evolution of early multicellular life in marine environments, eventually being supplemented by antioxidants and polyphenols that developed in fresh water sources away from the heavy halogens available to marine flora. The idea is that without this very simple precursor to later antioxidants, multicellular life might never have evolved at all.

There is also some evidence that the health benefits of these compounds have been known in the past and form the basis of a tree of life mythos that pervades a number of ancient cultures.

I can go on, but a comment field is less than ideal for detailed discussions.
